Résumé

Flash MX 2004 Games Most Wanted presents a definitive selection of game design techniques using the latest version of Macromedia Flash - now the industry standard for creating multimedia applications, used by over one million professionals.

Each chapter covers a distinct area of online gaming, describing the design and development of a finished Flash game. The book delivers as many complete example games as possible and is packed full of the most wanted tips, tricks, and techniques to demonstrate exactly how to produce exciting and interactive games. This is an inspiring sample of all the very best techniques that professional Flash game designers are using today.

L'auteur - Kristian Besley

Kristian Besley - Kristian Besley is a freelance author and Flash/web developer, specializing in interactivity and dynamic-driven content. He will, however, try his hand at just about anything. Kristian has written a number of books, including Foundation Flash MX, Flash MX Video, and Learn Design with Flash MX. He is also a contributor to Computer Arts magazine. In 2002, his website graphci.com hosted the first ever worldwide HTML-based Table Art competition. The entries are viewable at www.graphci.com/tableart. The 2003 competition is currently being planned. Willing sponsors please apply to besley@ntlworld.com. Kristian was born and raised in Swansea in Wales and attended a Welsh-language school.

L'auteur - Sham Bhangal

Sham Bhangal originally began his career as an Engineer, specializing in industrial computer based display and control systems. In the mid 90s he established Future Media Organisation to promote Flash development and particularly the deeper secrets of ActionScript and interactive design.

L'auteur - Anthony Eden

From an early age Anthony developed a love of interaction with mathematics and computational languages, along the way gaining an appreciation of any given natural environment and the ability to transform his environment into a digital construct. Inspiration for his latest project, www.arseiam.com (essentially an ActionScript anthology of his Flash work) is testament to this philosophy. The last decade has included commercial roles with Microsoft, Disney, Toyota, and Adobe providing a sound framework in which to explore and diversify his project development lifecycle skills. Spare time? If he’s not thinking about it he’s doing it!

L'auteur - Brad ferguson

After wanting to be an actor for many years I decided to take a more “realistic” career route when I was choosing which college to go to. I had always loved to draw so I decided to give animation a try. Since animating is acting with a pencil, I knew that I’d be happy - the best of both worlds. I am a graduate of Sheridan College’s 3-year Classical Animation Program in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and right now I’m involved with freelance game development and Flash animation work. My website is www.canvasobrad.com/.

L'auteur - Brian Monnone

Brian is the Senior Multimedia Producer/Developer for Tocquigny Advertising in Austin, Texas USA. Tocquigny Advertising received the Austin Business Journal's Top 25 Web Developers #1 position for 2002-2003 in web design and development in Austin. While computing for over 17 years, Brian has found himself doing what he loves to do, "making really cool stuff". Brian works on projects with AMD, Dell, HP, USAA, GlobalScape, and a host of other companies creating Flash demos, websites, video, and many other types of multimedia. Brian has won awards for his works and many accolades for his personal site, www.monnone.com. Nestled in the hills, he finds inspiration for his work and plenty to do with his wife and children. He enjoys creating interactive content and hopes in the future to become a filmmaker.

L'auteur - Glen Rhodes

I started my mind going early in life when I was about 4 years old. At that age, I began playing the piano, which was sitting unused in our house. I’ve been playing ever since then. Later, in 1997, I co-wrote a full-length musical called Chrystanthia. Somewhere along the way, I picked up game programming as a hobby, and eventually ended up making games professionally for home console systems. Then, in 1998, I discovered how I could take all my experiences and combine them when I discovered Flash. The rest is history. I share my ideas on my website, www.glenrhodes.com.

L'auteur - Steve Young

Steve Young est photographe professionnel et consultant photographique pour la revue Birdwatch. Ses photos ont été publiées dans de nombreux livres et revues.
