Radio frequency circuit design

Alan M. Davis, Krishnak K Agarwal

326 pages, parution le 01/01/2001

Résumé

Authors Davis and Agarwal provide engineers working in the telecommunications industry with a much-needed guide to contemporary approaches to the design and analysis of RF circuit components. Focusing on circuits used at the 800 MHz to 2 GHz frequency range, they offer clear, step-by-step demonstrations of design principles and their applications in the design of the full range of RF hardware components. These include filters, impedance transformers, small signal amplifiers, oscillators, noise theory, class A, B, and C solid state large signal amplifiers, phase lock loops, and more. Throughout, the authors make liberal use of scattering parameters, which are now widely used in amplifier and circuit design.

Covering both the timeless principles of receiver and transmitter circuit design and the latest technological applications in RF communications, Radio Frequency Circuit Design:

Presents important new mathematical techniques, including S-parameters

Explores improved computation techniques for circuit analysis, with examples in SPICE

Describes current applications of MMIC to RF design

Features real-life examples illustrating the rote of the described techniques in the overall design of various communications systems
