L'auteur - Patrick Moore

Sir Patrick Moore s'est consacré à l'étude de la Lune dont il a découvert nombre de caractéristiques importantes, notamment par l'observation assidue des limbes. Il est aussi l'un de ceux qui ont aidé à faire connaître l'astronomie moderne grâce à son émission mensuelle sur BBC TV, The Sky at Night inaugurée l'année même du lancement de Spoutnik 1, en 1957. Depuis lors, Patrick Moore a commenté chaque nouvelle étape de l'exploration spatiale et de l'astronomie pour un public sans cesse croissant. Brian May et Chris Lintott sont deux de ses proches collègues.
