I couldn't help but feel that by not at least considering the possibility that patients might have some control over their healing, I was being an irresponsible doctor.#4 I was initially resistant to the idea that the body is capable of healing itself, but as I continued to research, I was shocked at how many patients had experienced unexplained healings. I was fascinated, and wanted to understand what was going on.
