His parents picked Lockers Park, a fashionable prep school just north of London with strong naval connections.#3 In 1913, Dickie spent the summer in Hesse with his older siblings. The summer of 1913 was spent in Hesse with his older siblings, Alice, now married to Prince Andrew of Greece, and Louise and George, now a lieutenant serving in the battle cruiser HMS New Zealand.#4 In October, the German-accented Prince Louis, who had served his adopted country for 46 years, resigned as First Sea Lord. He was devastated. Another cadet saw him standing in front of the Osborne mast with tears running down his cheeks.
