Résumé
--
Many studies in the last few years have attempted to respond to the question 'What is justice?' and another, irrefutably associated with the first, 'What is a just society?' But such books are not always accessible, unlike this one from Alain Durand. In a methodical and well-structured text, he presents some thoughts gleaned from reading or events and deep trends in contemporary society. The author then compares great authors, who, from Aristotle to John Rawls - not forgetting more recent thinkers - have substantially enriched approaches to social justice. Special attention is given to the contribution made by Christianity. Faith, in fact, always appears as a force of radical interrogation for the establishment of a more just society. And the Church, which must be attentive to priorities and lapses in this domain, is called into question in its own structure and in a world which has become ethically pluralistic. This book can be read freely, approached from many angles.
