Résumé
Your in-depth guide to optimizing, managing, and securing Cisco's AVVID converged network architecture for voice, video, data, and storage
You've read plenty of books on Cisco theory and standards. What you need now is a practical guide focusing on network optimization tools and best practices-making the most of your Cisco AVVID applications (Architecture for Voice, Video, and Integrated Data) and keeping them all secure. Cisco expert and seasoned trainer Kelly McGrew provides the resource you've been looking for-a well-organized examination of design guidelines for Cisco voice, content, storage, and security applications, complete with a summary that shows how to tie everything together. Explore SAFE technology, intrusion detection, firewall implementation, packet filtering and addressing, and much more. Discover Cisco's routing and optical network solutions for efficient data storage and solve content distribution, delivery, and applications issues. If you're responsible for managing and optimizing Cisco voice, video, and data applications on the network, this is your toolbox.
You'll learn how to:
- Design and manage traditional voice (IP-PBX) dial plans
- Manage gateways and optimize call center efficiency
- Use SNMP, Windows, and third-party tools to help manage infrastructure
- Perform internal and external threat analysis for the enterprise
- Optimize customer relations applications and manage traffic flow
- Implement and troubleshoot unified messaging
- Set up internal and external security in AVVID
- Fine-tune the content distribution network, devices, routers, and switches
- Make the most of Cisco's Web-based management tools
- Manage and optimize AVVID for storage and optical devices
