Les mystères de la vie du christ
Pierre Bérulle - Collection Trésors christianisme
Résumé
--
Cardinal Pierre de Bérulle (1575-1629) was a man whose influence was, and still is, considerable, as well as an important figure in politics, one 'to whom,' as Bossuet said, 'the red hat added nothing, so elevated was he already by virtue of his righteousness and knowledge'. But above all, he is regarded historically as a spiritual author whose influence was immense. However, initial contact with his thinking and style often disconcerts modern readers who are unaccustomed to his language, which still borders on Latin. This little volume is intended as an introduction. It presents fourteen of Bérulle's meditations on the principal mysteries of the life of Christ. In order to facilitate reading, the spelling, style and certain turns of phrase have been adapted to conform to contemporary language.
