Presenting a new system of philosophy and its past, present and future history, 'La Vérité captive - De la philosophie' is a totally original book, both in its contents and the language it employs. 'La Vérité captive' constructs an edifice of Meaning, abolishing - through Thought - all artificial distinctions between faith and reason, between literature and philosophy. The author proposes an integral rereading of history around Trinitarian ontology, while lucidly underlining the critical age of 'outre-modernité' into which humanity has been precipitated through giving credence to 'immanentism'. Maxence Caron takes us back to the historical conceptual origins that led to the crisis of contemporary ideology, due to the belief that the vocation of thought is accomplished by assigning it to relativist dogmatism. Drawing in all thought in one strong apocalyptic and messianic movement, in a revived literary language and a tone that is both classic and paradoxical, Maxence Caron reveals the deep reasons for the historical conflagration whose originality and extent have not been stressed, provoking here and there merely reactionary complaints while both its background and source deserve to be analysed. Basing his propos on the very era which this book inaugurates, he shows thought to be unfailingly open to the Revelation of Principle, by its very interiority and its own intrinsic logic. Beginning with an apocalyptic flair and concluding with a mystical poem, 'La Vérité captive' exposes the System and the vision which sprang simultaneously from the history of philosophy. The ensemble reaches beyond stylistic considerations, initiating a new and ultimate way. This book draws breath from the mists of time, returns to the apodictically transcendent origin of all acts of the spirit, striving to put an end to errant thinking.
