La symbolique du repas dans les communautés

Cette étude sur la symbolique du repas, sur les conduites et les faits de table se conclut par une profonde réflexion sur l'Alliance à laquelle le repas invite. 'Who could imagine that such a banal act as eating together might be of such great human significance? In these pages, Father Jean-Claude carries out an in-depth analysis of this practice, resuming, summarizing and developing a psycho-sociological dissertation which he defended in 1982. But, in order to understand what happens when humans eat together, he explores beyond the context of his discipline and draws on the history of art, his observation of contemporary communities, the Bible and spiritual theology. The medieval architecture of the monasteries shows how the refectory is, in a way, a replica of the Church: one passes from the liturgy of the choir to that of the table, because a meal is a prolongation of the Eucharist...'
