Harland Miller's creativity as both artist and novelist culminates in his iconic paintings of battered book covers with cleverly invented titles. Initially appropriating the classic Penguin paperback before devising his own unique designs, Miller combines aspects of pop art, abstraction, and figurative painting to create highly coveted artworks that have won him a cult following. This monograph covers nearly 20 years of his paintings, and features newly commissioned essays by eminent art writers exploring different aspects of his practice.

Michael Bracewell est né dans la banlieue de Londres en 1958. Il est l'auteur remarqué de Une époque formidable, Saint Rachel et Un éternel jeune homme (Phébus, 2008).Michael Bracewell est né à Londres en 1958. Il a étudié à l'université de Nottingham, puis travaillé un temps pour le British Council. Romancier. Quatre de ses romans ont paru en France où ils ont été très remarqués : Une époque formidable (Le Dilettante, 2002), Saint Rachel (Le Dilettante, 2004), Un éternel jeune homme (Phébus, 2007) et Divines Amours (Phébus, 2010), Michael Bracewell a également publié des essais (notamment sur l'histoire culturelle de son pays, l'art contemporain ou sur le groupe Roxy Music...) et réalisé un documentaire sur Oscar Wilde pour la BBC.
