Governing by fake news
International conflicts : 30 years of infoxes used by western countries
Jacques Baud
Résumé
When fake news is used by Western countries
Is Vladimir Putin undermining our democracy? Did Bashar Al-Assad use chemical weapons against his own people? Do jihadists hate us for what we are rather than for what we do? Did the genocide in Darfur claim 400,000 lives? The simple answer to these questions (and many more like it) is, "No." It's all fake news. But over the past thirty years, Western governments have said otherwise and therefore have happily spent blood and treasure righting fake wrongs. Why is that? Why has the West orchestrated its various recent conflicts by way of fake news? This book is a no-holds-barred call to action to return truth to Western foreign diplomacy and policy.
