Résumé

This book introduces Java developers, familiar with J2SE 1.4, to the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). J2EE is an extremely powerful platform for developing enterprise-level applications. The new 1.4 version of J2EE enables you to build dynamic web applications and multi-tier Java applications for the enterprise, using technologies such as the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), JavaServer Pages (JSP), and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), as well as web services and XML.

  • What this book will teach you:
  • This book will give you a fast-paced introduction to J2EE 1.4, starting with an overview of how pieces of the J2EE technology puzzle fit together, then moving on to cover:

  • Database manipulation using JDBC
  • Creating Enterprise JavaBeans 2.1 and incorporating them into your applications
  • Using web services and XML

Through hands-on tutorials and clear explanations, you'll quickly find your feet with this powerful technology. We'll present to you the core J2EE knowledge required to do your day to day tasks via clear and precise examples.
