Betsy also encounters Joseph Bumble, a boastful newcomer who claims to be of royal lineage and a cousin to Buster Bumblebee. However, his deceit is uncovered during a party, where Buster Bumblebee himself exposes Joseph as a fraud. Throughout these events, Betsy remains kind-hearted and polite, even when faced with adversity. The tale also introduces Dusty Moth, a nocturnal creature who becomes infatuated with Betsy after hearing about her beauty.
