Résumé

Windows 2000 Server Professional Reference is "the" book to have at hand as your primary reference. A handy, one-stop resource of extraordinary breadth and depth, this book covers all the important concepts and procedures needed to design, deploy, and administer Windows 2000 networks and services. Windows 2000 Server Professional Reference is the only book in the industry that provides the reader with such detailed answers to day-to-day administration problems and tasks. Through case studies, walkthroughs and examples, Dr. Siyan shows you how to manage, troubleshoot, and fix problems that are specific to heterogeneous Windows networks.

Windows 2000 Server Professional Reference follows on the heels of his popular Windows NT Server 4 Professional Reference, which has been rated among the best references on the subject. Dr. Siyan has documented the Windows 2000 operating system in fine detail, adding contextual and practical information to the hard technical data. Perfect for administrators, consultants, trainers, and engineers, this reference will help you answer any Windows 2000 question.

If you administer or deploy Windows 2000 Server, this book will help you:

  • Migrate from Windows NT® to Windows 2000
    • Set Active Directory™ security, file permissions, and user rights
      • Integrate with NetWare®-based networks
        • Configure routing and remote access service
          • Create and configure user accounts, user profiles, and group policies
            • Set up dynamic DNS and DHCP servers
