This book is a complete kit for Wi-Fi users, offering "how-to" instructions and software discounts, full versions on the CD, and recommendations for Wi-Fi projects.
The author takes the reader beyond just wireless networking to explore Wi-Fi capabilities in real-world applications such as Wi-Fi with PDAs, VOIP, and building a Wi-Fi phone.

Unlike other books on 802.11b in preparation, The Wi-Fi Experience will not be aimed at software engineers. This is a book about real-world practical issues, not standards, protocols, and engineering problems. It takes a straightforward "how to" approach. An important part of The Wi-Fi Experience involves collaborations with hardware and software vendors. The Wi-Fi Experience will save consumers money and time. The author will work with vendors such as Apple, 3COM, and the NetGear division of Nortel to provide compelling offerings as well as provide software on the CD, making the book a complete kit for Wi-Fi projects.
