Texinfo

You can typeset a Texinfo file for single-sided or double-sided printing; you can use any of several différent sizes of paper; virtually any terminal display can be used with the Info output; virtually any web browser can be used with the HTML output.

This manual describes Texinfo. It tells you how to create chapters and menus, footnotes and indices, and both numbered and unnumbered sections and appendices; as well as tables of contents, automatically numbered lists, and other parts of an essay, novel, or technical manual. It includes a complete short sample Texinfo file. It explains how to typeset and print hardcopy, and how to create and install an Info file.
