"Solid Modelling with TopSolid'Design and TopSolid'Wood" written by Jean-Yves Chavant and Stephane Surmely, has been developed as an aid to help learn TopSolid'Wood. The book is made up of detailed working examples with different levels of difficulty. It is a guide for TopSolid'Wood beginners which explains the many wood specific functions present in the software (tenon, mortise, molding). The book also deals with the creation of components, Bills of Material, drafts, parametric setting of products, etc.

L'auteur - Jean-Yves Chavant

Jean-Yves Chavant is a professor of Computer Integrated Manufacturing for the wood industry in BTS classes in France (BTS is a French diploma for graduate technicians). At the beginning of his career Jean-Yves worked in various different woodworking companies (small and industrial sized joinery shops). In 1985 Jean-Yves decided to sit the necessary exams to become a graduate professor. He now, dedicates much of his time to understanding and teaching different aspects of the industrial digital chain process: CAD, CAD/CAM, rapid prototyping, numerically controlled machining, etc.

L'auteur - Stéphane Surmely

Stephane Surmely is also a professor of Computer Integrated Manufacturing for the wood industry in BTS classes studying the industrialisation of furniture and joinery. Stephane has studied cabinet making and has a post-graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering for Woodworking. In 1991 he sat the necessary exams to become a graduate professor. Between 1999 and 2002 Stephane wrote a book detailing all tools necessary to industrialise wood products. Stephane now trains CAD and CAM classes working with TopSolid'Wood.
