Résumé

We've written a book that offers you everything you need to know to get up and running with Dreamweaver MX 2004 in a PHP and MySQL environment. Dreamweaver MX 2004 is a truly remarkable tool for creating dynamic, standards-compliant web sites. If you want to get your sites built without worrying about what Dreamweaver is doing under the hood, this book will provide the guidance you need. If you prefer to go deep into the code, this book will show you how to do that, too.

We start with a gentle introduction to PHP, MySQL, and Dreamweaver MX 2004, including the web standards support in Dreamweaver. We then go deeper into the heart of the matter, looking at data manipulation, server behaviors, creating your own extensions, and debugging your web sites. We finish with a complete case study that incorporates database design, content management, blogging, and other exciting, real-world web site features. You'll learn how to use these features and adapt them to suit your own projects.

After reading this book, you'll have all of the knowledge and confidence you'll need to develop professional PHP-driven web sites in Dreamweaver MX 2004.

L'auteur - Allan Kent

Allan Kent has been programming seriously for the past 10 years or so, and other than a single blemish when he achieved a diploma in Cobol programming, is entirely self-taught. He started his career working at the local university and now co-owns a company that does new media design. Allan lives in Cape Town, South Africa, with his girlfriend and four cats.

L'auteur - David Powers

David Powers has been professionally involved with the electronic media for 30 years, mostly in radio and television. He was a BBC Tokyo correspondent in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but more recently has concentrated on Internet projects. He built his first web site in 1995, and was instantly hooked. Eventually, the sheer tedium of updating content convinced him there must be a better way. After a brief flirtation with ASP, he experimented with PHP, and found himself hooked yet again. Fluent in Japanese, David specializes in building Japanese-English bilingual web sites, writing about Japan, and translating Japanese (he has translated several plays). He is coauthor of Foundation Dreamweaver MX 2004 (friends of ED, 2004), and has worked as technical reviewer on a number of web-related titles for the Apress group.

L'auteur - Rachel Andrew

Rachel Andrew - Rachel Andrew runs her own web solutions company in the UK, http://www.edgeofmyseat.com , the company web site also being home to various "web standards"-focused articles and Dreamweaver extensions. Rachel is a member of the Web Standards Project on the Dreamweaver Task Force, and hopes to encourage best practices in the support and use of W3C Standards in Dreamweaver. When not writing code, or writing about writing code, Rachel spends time with her daughter, tries to encourage people to use Debian GNU/Linux, studies with the Open University, and enjoys a nice pint of beer.
