Résumé
students who have some familiarity with computer concepts such as windows, menus, web
pages, and the Internet. It begins by giving a history of the language and reviews program
compiling and the operation of programs, before moving on to discuss classes, objects, and
methods in greater detail in Chapter 2. Java from the Beginning defines and uses the Java
Class Libraries to create objects with which programs are constructed, and demonstrates the
different program constructions — expressions and sentences, for example — included in
basic Java programs. By using Java and its programming techniques, graphics and
communication programs can be introduced early and dealt with in great detail in this book,
something that gets too complicated and lost in more traditional programming texts.
