Résumé

Cisco Networking Academy Program: Computer Networking Essentials is the Cisco-approved preparatory course for the Cisco Networking Academy Program. Adopted by Cisco Systems as an optional module for the online curriculum, this text gives students a general understanding of the principles and terminology of networking in a portable format that mirrors the online module.

Written at a level that allows students with little computer experience to be successful, Computer Networking Essentials covers and carefully integrates both hardware and software topics. This textbook incorporates elements from a variety of popular vendor-prescribed introductory networking courses into a comprehensive all-in-one guidebook. Computer Networking Essentials will prepare students for the Network+ program, Microsoft's Networking Essentials core course, and Novell's Networking Fundamentals in addition to the Cisco Networking Academy Program. Cisco Press is the only publisher endorsed and recommended by Cisco Systems. Cisco Press is a collaboration between Cisco Systems, Inc., and Pearson Education charged with developing high-quality, cutting-edge educational and reference products for the networking industry. The products in the Cisco Networking Academy Program series are designed to prepare students for careers in the exciting networking field. George Ward (Team Leader and Senior Engineer), Dennis Frezzo, Jai Gosine, Alex Belous, and David Alexander wrote the online curriculum.
