L'auteur - Allan Kent
Allan Kent has been programming seriously for the past 10 years or so, and other than a single blemish when he achieved a diploma in Cobol programming, is entirely self-taught. He started his career working at the local university and now co-owns a company that does new media design. Allan lives in Cape Town, South Africa, with his girlfriend and four cats.

Steven D. Nowicki is Director of Software development at The Content Project, a Santa Monica, California-based consulting firm currently developing a massive enterprise resource planning and contact management system comprising more than 300,000 lines of OO PHP code. He has a decade of experience in large-scale software development and system architecture on all major platforms.

David Mercer est né en août 1976 à Harare, capitale du Zimbabwe. Ayant toujours eu beaucoup d'intérêt pour tout ce qui touche à la science, David a commencé à entretenir des relations régulières avec les ordinateurs dans le cadre universitaire où il a étudié l'informatique comme deuxième matière dominante.
Programmeur et écrivain, il écrit depuis sept ans aussi bien du code que des livres. Il a apporté son expertise, aussi bien comme auteur que comme expert, sur de nombreux ouvrages connus traitant de sujets très variés, ce qui lui a permis de développer une vision unique du monde de la programmation et des techonologies appliquées à des objectifs commerciaux.
Selon David, ce sont les défis naissant de la relation dichotomique entre la science (et l'art) de la programmation logicielle d'une part et l'art (et la science) de l'écriture d'autre part qui entretiennent son intérêt pour la rédaction d'ouvrages techniques. Il souhaite d'ailleurs poursuivre cette carrière d'auteur dans l'avenir. Consultant pour sa propre agence de conseil technique et rédactionnel, David partage son temps entre la programmation, l'écriture, la critique ainsi que la poursuite de ses études en Mathématiques Appliquées.
Lorsqu'il ne travaille pas (ce qui n'arrive pas si fréquemment), il aime jouer de la guitare et participer à des activités de plein air allant du "touch rugby" au golf en passant par le ski nautique ou le surf des neiges.

Heow Eide-Goodman is a member of NYPHP and LispNYC who uses PHP in his day job to do Web sites, services, and back-office transformations among SQL Server, Interbase/Firebird, and MySQL.
L'auteur - Ed Lecky-Thompson
Ed Lecky-Thompson is the founder of Ashridge New Media, a professional new media technology consultancy based just outside London, England. Not content with the daily thrill of tax forms and payroll, he still gets involved at a hands-on level with all the company's projects and describes himself as "utterly obsessed with PHP," an obsession that shines through in the business, which works almost exclusively in the language. Ed has more than six years' experience in commercial software development and enterprise-level systems architecture across a myriad of platforms, with particularly strong exposure to open source technologies such as PHP and PERL on the languages front, and Linux and BSD on the systems front. Ed usually spends his spare time driving far too quickly through the English countryside.
