Résumé

Is your business headed for E-oblivion ?
The headlines of newspapers are filled with columns inches about Internet billionaires. So much that people could be forgiven for thinking that putting ‘e' in front of any business idea, however insane, is a guarantee of success. But the signs are that the party is over and profits is becoming ‘cool' once more. The truth is rapidly dawning on investors and entrepreneurs alike, that 90% of e-business will make no money and 75% will probably fail, some like Boo.com, ignominiously and quickly. The new flood of venture capitalists and millions of day traders will lose their shirts.

But you don't have to lose your shirt !
This book is for those E-entrepreneurs whose business is not performing as they would like. The problems may have been triggered by a meltdown on NASDAQ, an economic downturn, or just plain old economy style mismanagement. Whilst your business may not actually be in a free fall, key targets and deadlines are being missed and the business model has not turned out to be quite the ‘killer application' that was pitched in those heady days-years, months, weeks or perhaps only twenty for hours ago, as the first financing round.

The book is also a useful primer for the millions of would-be Internet billionaires. The learning curve in the E-world is steep and few will scramble up in time. Now that cash burns is out and profits are in, picking up some pointers on how other E-entrepreneurs made it, or didn't as the case may be, could open up some fruitful avenues more quickly, or help avoid some of the more fatal dangers.
