Résumé

The third edition of this well-established book has been comprehensively updated and includes four new chapters.

The authors present accurate and easy-to-apply methods of analyzing and predicting long-term stresses and deformations. These methods allow designers to account for variations of concrete performance from project to project and from country to country, making the book universally applicable.

Examples are provided at the end of each chapter, and the input data and main results are provided in both Imperial and SI units for ease of use by readers in all countries. The latest American and European codes of practice are covered in the appendices but the main part of the book is not tied to any specific code. Many design aids in the form of graphs and tables are included.

L'auteur - Renaud Favre

Renaud Favre obtient son diplôme d'ingénieur civil à l'Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Zurich en 1957. Entré dans la pratique, il collabore au projet et à la réalisation de nombreux ouvrages. Dès 1964 il devient l'un des associés d'un bureau d'ingénieurs ayant des activités en Suisse et à l'étranger. Il est membre de nombreuses commissions et associations professionnelles, en particulier du CEB dont il est le vice-président.
