Conference purpose and goals: * To exchange the state of the art in research concerned with the scientific and applied tools allowable for the metrology of physical and mechanical properties of wood and wood based material. * To show new concepts and new technologies that have entered the market. * To provide a forum for wood scientists, senior researchers, head of research and developpment laboratories concerned with nondestructive testing methods and nondestructive technology applied to wood and wood based products. * To learn the actual technologies and the tendencies for tomorrow, for the evaluation of trees, roundwood, logs, poles and piles, solid wood, sawn timber and lumber, glued laminated timber, plywood, particle boards, laminated veneer lumber, reconstituted wood.

L'auteur - Jean-Luc Sandoz
Jean Luc Sandoz obtient son diplôme d'ingénieur-bois à l'Université de Nancy I à Epinal, après avoir suivi une filière pratique, du CAP de menuisier-ébéniste à l'ingénieur BTS construction-bois. Assistant à la chaire de construction en bois de l'EPFL, il obtient son doctorat en 1990 puis il est nommé professeur assistant en 1993. Depuis fin 1999, il est directeur de deux bureaux d'ingénieurs; Concept Bois Structure en France et Concept Bois Technologie SA à St-Sulpice VD. Ses domaines de compétence s'étendent du matériau bois aux applications dans les structures innovantes, et de la connaissance fondamentale des aspects qualité et fiabilité aux nouvelles technologies de mesure non destructives du bois.
