L'auteur - William E. Wallace
William E. Wallace est l'un des plus grands spécialistes de Michel-Ange. Professeur émérite de la Washington university in St. Louis, il y est actuellement titulaire de la chaire d'histoire de l'art Barbara Murphy Bryant. Auteur de nombreux ouvrages sur la Renaissance, il a déjà publié cinq livres exclusivement consacrés à Michel-Ange. Il fut également consulté comme expert lors de la restauration du plafond de la chapelle Sixtine.
