De l'interrogation radicale

Résumé
--
'We constantly forget to go right to the foundations. We do not pose our questions deeply enough,' wrote Wittgenstein. The work of Francis Jacques is a frank reply to that 'remark'. Consequently, it holds an original position in the philosophy of our times. The enterprise was a bold one and had to be innovating. The philosophical obstacles were many: they had to be acknowledged and questioned at their very deepest roots. The analytical approach, in this case, was an excellent tool. It was only a point of departure, but a decisive one because it led to overturning the terrain on which the tradition of centuries had constructed its philosophical systems. On the pathway thus cleared, the logical space of 'interlocution' supplanted the all-powerful subjectivism of the philosophies of consciousness. The exploration of communicational dialogism led to an in-depth questioning which, from the metaphysical viewpoint, uncovered the 'relation' as an original and foundational source of thought. At this pure source is drawn the 'transcendental exigency' which, combined with the formal structures of thinking, commands the edification of meaning. By making patiently pursued questioning the genetic and critical activity of thought, the 'radical interrogation' - because of its ontological scope - has become a 'spiritual elevation'. So wisdom can challenge the pathologies that corrupt manifestations of existence. The horizon brightens with divine light: it is a place of confidence and hope. To the process of generalised 'de-construction' that so many books develop today, the work of Francis Jacques opposes the movement of a spiritual reconstruction ordained by the bold alliance of logic and metaphysics and an ear for theology. By exploring the original powers of questioning, whose integrity and radicalness are the very nobility of thinking, the author traces an itinerary along which he proposes an antidote for the despair of our times of crisis: a new way of thinking, in order to establish efficient bearings and restore, on the way to the Absolute, the lost humanity of man. A new beginning.
