Camus, la philosophie et le christianisme
Guy Basset, Hubert Faes - Collection La nuit surveillée
Résumé
--
Camus' philosophy has been studied in depth his reaction to Christianity is well known and Christians took an immediate interest in his work. But that affinity had not been analysed until now. That is what this book does working from various viewpoints and from Camus' education, his art as a writer and director, his relations with Christian philosophers and finally his own thinking about Christianity. Camus did not wish to be a 'professional' philosopher. He refuted philosophy's dogma and systems, just as he fought those things in religions. His thinking of the absurd and rebellion encountered in Christianity an echo of his sense of the human condition, which could not be reduced to an ideology. This book is the fruit of an international colloquium, organized at the Institut catholique in Paris, on March 15 -16, 2010, with the collaboration of the Société des études camusiennes. It was the first time researchers met to discuss this theme.
