This book is a reflection on accidie and its influence within the dynamism of human action today. The author starts our from a hypothesis: isn't accidie (monastic sin par excellence so often studied by the old monks, but rarely mentioned today) a major obstacle in the deployment of every Christian's action? At the conclusion of a study that is both thorough and accessible, we discover the sin more usually called"sloth"at the crossroads of the carnal and the spiritual, the mortal trap at the heart of the Unitarian tension that gives meaning to morals and links it closely with spirituality. In a lively theological approach, attentive to the Fathers and Saint Thomas Aquinas, this discovery reveals the fundamental unity between morals and spirituality and opens onto a constructive dialogue with contemporary theology in the large perspectives of Vatican II."The evocative title, 'La Saveur de Dieu', is more than an invitation to rediscover the joys of the dynamism of human action directed toward God. I thank you for this precious scientific contribution on sloth. It will undoubtedly serve many souls, hungry for perfection, to find the delight of a spiritual life that draws on the inexhaustible source of Eternal Love."(Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, président du Comité du prix Henri de Lubac)"
