Research interests: Quantum Statistical Mechanics of
Irreversible Processes. Unstable States in Quantum
Mechanics. Group Theoretical Methods in Quantum Physics.
Special and General Relativity. Quantum Theory in Curved
Spacetimes. Professor Gorini has worked in a variety of
subjects in theoretical and mathematical physics. His major
contributions are the classification of the generators of
quantum dynamical semigroups for N-level systems (with
A.Kossakowski and E.C.G.Sudarshan), and the dynamical
characterization of equilibrium states (KMS states) whithin
the algebraic approach to quantum statistical mechanics
(with A.Frigerio and M.Verri). His interests in general
relativity are more recent and are concerned with black
hole solutions and cosmic censorship hypotheses in
Tolman-Bondi spacetimes, and with the reduced dynamics of
quantum fields on curved submanifolds.

Professor Ugo Moschella
1992-1993 and 1994-1996: Research Fellow at CEA--SACLAY,
France
1993-1994: Maitre de Conferences, Universite' de Paris 7,
France
1996: Research Fellow at IHES--Bures-sur-Yvette,

Research activity has mainly focused on Quantum Field
Theory. He has made contributions to Gauge Theories, and,
in the last few years, on Quantum Field Theory on curved
spacetimes. In particular he has proposed (with J. Bros, H.
Epstein and al.) an entirely new approach to de Sitter and
Anti-de Sitter QFT based on the analiticity properties of
the correlation functions.
